Tambuwal’s adviser Gidado dumps PDP for APC

Ibrahim Gidado, an adviser to Sokoto Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bashar Abubakar, Senator Aliyu Wamakko’s spokesman made the announcement in a statement on Sunday.

Wamakko, a former governor, is the lawmaker representing Sokoto North.

Abubakar noted that the APC leader received the defector on Saturday.

Gidado said he and his supporters left the PDP due to the “lack of focus and trust from its leaders”.

“We joined the APC and its leaders so as to team up and rescue Sokoto State from the failed administration of Tambuwal, as many promises made were not fulfilled.”

In his remarks, Wamakko commended Gidado for the decision and assured him of equal treatment.

Gidado was a former member of the House of Assembly representing Sokoto South State Constituency 1.
